Here are some diary entires from each of the seasons we were in the Northwestern Coniferous Forest.
*these are our separate thoughts of how this trip went.
Spring
Honestly being dropped off at first was a bit scary but it didn't take long to adjust to life for me. In the spring we created shelter in a hollowed out tree we found and then we carved out a little more using our knife. Finding food was hard at first. We decided that I would find plants and berries for us to eat while she did all the hunting for our food and animal skin blankets and clothes. The nights were cold but we kept warm with the fire we made.

Spring
Lauren and I were just dropped off in the Northwestern Coniferous Forest “Naked and Afraid”. Its springtime and it looks nice lots of vegetation. We decide to walk around to find shelter, and then once we find shelter we can go and try to find something to cover our selves in. As we are walking around we see a nice large tree that has a large hollowed out spot in its trunk. We first check if there’s anything else living in there first but once we see nothing in there we set down our items. We both know if we want to survive a whole year in this place we will have to be smart. As we talk I learn we both Have many year experience with camping and girl scouts.
Once we found our shelter we went to find something to eat, when we were walking we saw a dead dear it hasn’t been dead for long. We used the skin for a something to sleep on tonight. I have learned before if you use water and a rock and just keep rubbing that over and over the skin doesn’t go bad. Then we started a fire but first we made a circle with rocks near by to contain it. When the rocks were set out and we found a few nice sticks we used Laurens flint to start a fire we cooked the deer on the fire. We decided tomorrow we would collect some berries and we would get water after we have a good night sleep.
Its rained a few times so stayed in our hollowed out tree so we would get sick.

Summer
The summers were very nice it was never too hot or too cold. We would entertain ourselves but swimming in a creek near by and climb trees. The only annoyance was having to keep getting and then creating fresh water. Berry picking is very good this time of year more of the plants have blossomed and made it easier to distinguish what was edible and what wasn't.

Summer
We mostly decided Lauren would pick the berries and the plants because she what was edible and what was not and I stuck with the hunting because I know how to hunt. I had made a slingshot, a bow and arrow, and I widdled a stick so I could use it to maybe catch fish. I have gotten a few birds and I got 3 fish from the stream near by. Also from the stream near by we got water, I took one for the team and drank it first to see if it would make me sick but it hasn’t yet so we still have been drinking that water. It’s been fun. We ended up another dear skin to cover our self’s up but over all it hasn’t been that cold. The fires we make at night usually keep any predators away. Over all it hasn’t been too hard but it hasn’t been super easy either. The berries that Lauren has been getting are really nice.

Fall
It’s starting to get a bit cold out now. we have ben having to kill more animals for fresh new clothes and blankets because the winter is coming soon. The fire has been a huge help with warmth and our tree house helped a lot with the rain. I have been going out to collect food so I won't need to go out as much in the winter.
-Lauren
Fall
Today I went out to hunt and I was following a deer and as I pulled back the arrow and let it go. I hit the deer with one shot so that we have ore food and a new skin to either wear or sleep on so yay. I have also gotten a few birds so we haven’t run out of food yet. I am definitely starting to like all the berries and nuts Lauren is finding.
Since its getting a lot colder and raining a bit we decided to start collecting fruits and nuts for the winter, I even started hunting more so we can have more skins for warmth. We are definitely a little nervous for winter because we don’t know what to expect.
We have collected a lot of berries and plants that we can eat through out the winter because we know once winter hits food is going to be scarce. We got salal, the leaves to suppress hunger and the berries as an important food source. It’s definitely going to help for the winter months.

Winter
Winter has been the worse so far. Its very cold, but thankfully we have out shelter to keep the snow out. I’m glad I gathered food because I would have to have gone out a lot more than I already do. The water tastes a lot better now. I believe it’s from the snow that has fallen. This year has gone by so fast. I can't believe it's almost over.
-Lauren
Winter-
Its been soooo cold We are so glad we got those extra skins because they are definitely keeping us warm we usually cant make fires because it snowing and raining but we are protected in our hollowed out tree. The salal leaves are definitely
Helping because the food is not that so much so we have to save it for the whole winter. We have been out every once in a while when its not snowing or raining but the breeze is definitely chilly. This year has been very challenging but it’s gone by pretty fast.
It’s been fun because Lauren and I only really got sick about 2-3 times each. So we have been pretty healthy I think the hardest part about this trip was finding wood for our fires because it rains a lot so wood is always wet so we could make fires out of wet wood so we really had to rely on the animal skins.
